Barrio Downtown
It's called Porteño downtown, downtown, City Porteña or "The City" to an area of the city of Buenos Aires which is not officially recognized as one of the 48 districts of Buenos Aires.
It has an area roughly 60 blocks whose boundaries are the Avenida Cordoba and Avenida de Mayo (cutting in these north-south) and between Avenida Leandro N. Alem and the Avenue of the Rábida (by cutting the latter in an east-west direction).
The name of the neighborhood was given due to the large concentration of offices, shops, businesses and banks (being all of the banks "matrix" of Argentina in that neighborhood). It has a large volume of services companies and banks, is also the Commodities Exchange of Buenos Aires, and government buildings.
