Barrio Centro
The Centre is the main district of San Miguel de Tucumán, located in the heart of the city. It has a great commercial movement which makes it perfect for tourism. The number of houses is very small in it, with a predominance of commercial businesses and public administration buildings. It also has many tourist attractions. Being a large area of the city, occasionally it is divided into downtown and Macrocenter. The first includes within itself the Independence Square, the City Bank, Government House, the Post Office, the Historical House of Independence and the pedestrian street. The Macrocenter is characterized by the existence of buildings and modern towers coexist with old " chorizo style" houses . The district boundaries are difficult to determine, but some would be located in the North Santiago Street, Rivadavia - Las Heras to the east, south and General Paz Jujuy - Salta to the West.
